Fruit History

At Bashista Orchards, we have been growing Apples since Jacob Bashista established the farm in the 1920s. Many of the old standard trees are still producing fruit for your enjoyment.

With his son Walter, he added Pears and Plums to the orchards that covered over 30 acres.

Walter’s son Tom and his wife Jean introduced Peaches, Cherries, Nectarines and Apricots in the 1980s.

These latest crops offer a wider range of variety to the early picking season.
In 1984 Tom & Jean added another large cold storage room and apple sorting area to the 1940s building. Most of the building is cold storage which allows us to offer our fruit through the winter into spring.

We take this year-round orchard harvest and slow-press it directly into our signature fresh apple cider right here at our mill.
